SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026 : Information

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) posts. These vacancies exist in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India, including attached and subordinate offices located in different States and Union Territories.

The selection process is multi-staged, beginning with a Computer Based Examination followed by a mandatory Skill Test in Stenography. Only candidates who possess specific skills in stenography are eligible to apply. Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University
Shortlisted candidates must pass a mandatory Skill Test involving dictation at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m.) for Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for Grade ‘D’
